Consultation opens on the future of the Clair Hall Site

Mid-Sussex District Council have today, 30 June 2021, launched a 12-week public engagement exercise on the future of the Clair Hall site, in Haywards Heath. This engagement is the first stage of a wider engagement and consultation programme.

The Clair Hall building is currently in operation as a COVID-19 vaccination centre and is likely to remain so until at least February 2022. The Council have committed to remaining flexible to further requests from the NHS to extend their use of the building to support the NHS response to the Pandemic. This engagement and consultation will therefore consider the longer term future of the site.

As part of the initial 12-week engagement process, there will be a wide range of ways that the community can provide their views including:

  • The creation of this online Engagement Hub to host information about the process and its results as well as providing a number of different ways for the community tell us what they think and feel
  • The formation of a Clair Hall Community Engagement Group (CHCEG) with representatives from local groups and organisations
  • Community workshops
  • Drop-in sessions and online presentations
  • Individual meetings with local groups

The engagement and consultation process has been designed to allow the widest possible range of voices to take part. Once the engagement period has closed in September 2021, a consultation report will be produced and published. Responses to the engagement process and the consultation report will inform a report for consideration by the Mid-Sussex District Council Cabinet, in early 2022.
