Project Update – August 2026

Work is continuing at Hemsleys Meadow and Finches Field, with good progress being made as the new community park takes shape.

Over the past few weeks, work has focused on bringing many of the park's key features closer to completion. The play mound is now largely complete, new play features have been installed, safety surfacing has been laid, and the final surfaces are now being added to the new path network across the meadow.

Preparations have also continued for future planting, with tree pits and planting areas now ready for the next planting season.

While construction is progressing well, the project is taking a little longer than originally anticipated. As a result, we are now working towards opening the meadow in early September, subject to the remaining works being completed, an independent RoSPA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) safety inspection, any final safety works identified, and the new grass becoming established.

We appreciate that residents are keen to see the new space open and would like to thank the local community for its continued patience while these works are completed.
