Will there be any access to the park once works begin?

Yes, Mount Noddy will remain largely open during the works. You’ll still be able to walk through the park on the footpaths and around the grass areas for most of the time.

Some footpaths will need to close temporarily for resurfacing, so please follow on-site signs and information.

When will the works begin and how long to you expect them to last?

Work is scheduled to begin on 23rd June and is expected to last for approximately 4 months.

What will the days/ hours of work be?

    Our contractor, Blakedown, will work:

    •    Monday to Friday: 08:00 – 18:00

    •    Saturday (if required): 09:00 – 13:00

No construction or demolition will take place on Sundays or Public Holidays.

During the works how will waste from the site be managed?

Waste will be moved by dumper trucks to a main compound in the car park. From there:

    •    Large waste like soil will be collected by grab lorries.

    •    General waste like packaging will go into skips.

All waste will be taken away by licensed waste carriers.

Will I still be able to park in the car park and access the pavilion building?

Yes, but parking will be limited, and access routes will change. We recommend avoiding driving to Mount Noddy during the works if possible.

Blakedown will use the northern and eastern parking bays for material storage and welfare units.

When will the playground be closed?

Work on the playground is expected to begin in August. It will be fully closed during this time while we install new play equipment and a more level rubber surface.

We understand this is during the school summer holidays, but due to other constraints, it’s unavoidable.

When will the new playground be open?

Once the playground is closed for refurbishment, it will remain closed for the duration of the wider improvement works in the park ie. until October/November. This is because the playground upgrades are scheduled to align with other key activities, such as resurfacing and planting. Coordinating these elements ensures the work is completed efficiently and safely and helps deliver a better overall result for the park. The playground will reopen once all related works are finished, and the area is safe and ready for use.

Why are you closing the children's playground during the school summer holidays?

We understand that August is not the best time to close the playground, but due to other constraints it is unavoidable.

Your nearest alternative play areas are the Kings Centre Play area (approximately 0.3 miles) or East Court upper play area (approximately 0.5 miles)

I’ve booked a tennis court; can I still play?

I walk my dog at Mount Noddy, can I still go around the field?

    •    One large tree is being removed due to decay identified.
