Project update - March 2026

Progress on the new youth zone has moved forward significantly this month. The final drainage works have now been completed, and the area has been tarmacked, bringing it close to being ready for young people to enjoy. Once fully finished, the space will feature basketball hoops, table tennis tables, a giant cantilever swing, a hammock, and plenty of seating.

At the park entrances, new concrete block surfacing has been installed to create more welcoming thresholds into the site.

The play area is also nearing completion, with only the rubber safety surfacing left to be installed before it can open. However, the prolonged wet weather since January has created challenges, as safety surface contractors across the region are experiencing significant backlogs. We are working closely with them to secure a slot as soon as conditions and availability allow.
