Wyshe Play Space survey
We are reaching out to gather your views on the future of the village playground, which is subject to specific restrictions and opportunities due to its unique status.
When the public open space at the Wyshe was transferred to MSDC, a covenant was put in place stating that it must be used as a playground for children. We want to make sure that all members of the community feel welcome to come and enjoy the space.
Additionally, the land is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) which means we need to cause as little disturbance to the grassland as possible and will need approval from Natural England before we can do any works.
In the coming months, we have a couple of options to consider. We could move forward with installing a new slide, picnic table, and fresh surfacing to enhance the playground experience (subject to Approval from Natural England) Alternatively, we could develop a more comprehensive scheme to apply for additional funding for a larger improvement project.
Your feedback is invaluable to us as we explore these possibilities. We want to ensure that any developments reflect the needs and desires of our community while respecting the environmental constraints in place.
