1-2-3 waste collection
A further 2,000 households have now joined our new 1-2-3 waste collection service! All homes have now received a food waste pack, two new bins, and an updated waste collection calendar.
With the 1-2-3 collection service you are now recycling over 70% of your household waste. Plus, homes with the 1-2-3 service reduce their residual waste by an average of 2.2kg a week.
The new service provides a weekly kerbside collection of food waste in a bid to eliminate food from their general rubbish bin. The areas chosen contain a mix of housing types within different locations in order to include as much variation as possible.
The collection service is as follows:
- Every week: food waste collections in your new green food waste bin
- Every two weeks: recycling collections in your existing, blue-lidded wheelie bin
- Every three weeks: rubbish collections in your existing, black-lidded wheelie bin
Please note, there is no change to the current recycling collection provided to all residents or to those who pay for the garden waste subscription service.
We will be using the information we gather and the feedback we receive from this page, to help plan for a roll-out across the District over the next couple of years.
We hope this page covers all the information you need regarding your new collection service. For any other concerns, questions or information about your waste collection, please visit:https://www.midsussex.gov.uk/waste-recycling/
