Project update: July 2026
Please read the below update about planned changes Temple Grove, Primrose Close and Chaffinch Close.
Temple Grove
This park will be the focus for new investment. A new piece of play equipment will be installed to replace the item that has already been removed. The other existing play equipment will remain and be maintained. You are invited to vote for your favourite option from four different multi-play units via an easy consultation survey. Each option offers different play experiences and is designed for different age groups. We want families, children and neighbours who use the park to help choose the equipment they would most like to see installed.
Primrose Close
At this park, the existing play equipment will remain in place and be maintained. Improvements at this site will focus on making the park easier to access and move around, with new paths being installed to better link the basketball court and play facilities. These works are due to begin in mid-July.
Chaffinch Close
The play equipment at this park was removed because it was unsafe. The remaining safety surfacing will be removed in mid to late July and the area will be seeded with grass.
We understand that some residents may be disappointed that new play equipment is not planned for this site. However, Chaffinch Close will remain a public open space, and the basketball hoop and tarmac court will stay. Residents will continue to have access to play facilities nearby at Temple Grove and Primrose Close, including the new play equipment planned for Temple Grove.
We are now asking residents what is most important to you about the future of Chaffinch Close. Through our consultation survey, you can tell us what you would most like this space to provide for the community. Your feedback and ideas will help inform future plans for the site.
Have your say:
You can now:
- Vote for your preferred option of new play equipment to be installed at Temple Grove
- Tell us what is most important to you about the future of Chaffinch Close
The two consultations are open online through the Council’s Engagement Hub webpage and will close 20 August 2026.
- Council officers will also hold an informal drop-in session at Chaffinch Close on Wednesday 29 July between 12-3pm. Please come along if you would like to ask questions or share your feedback and ideas directly with the project team.
Thank you to everyone who takes the time to get involved. By sharing your views, you can help shape safer and more welcoming spaces for local families and the wider community.
