A vital cultural venue

A very important function that Clair Hall serves is a place to give blood. Currently the closest place is Burgess Hill and appointments there get booked up months in advance. There are also many people who live in haywards Heath for whom travelling elsewhere to give blood would be too hard, yet giving blood is a vital service.


Oh a more 'fun' note, I have used Clair Hall for many different reasons including barn dances and NCT sales. I took my little boy to see an international ballet there and we just couldn't believe that such a wonderful, prestigious event would be held in Haywards Heath - indeed, if it was not at Clair Hall there would have been no other suitable, central venue for such a performance. He and many other adults and children would have missed out on an enjoyable, educational cultural event as it would be too far and undesirable to travel elsewhere. I have also attended charity events (such as the Popsteps annual Christmas party) that would not be feasible elsewhere but which have raised thousands of pounds for charity.

The main point is that Clair Hall is the largest venue that is central to the town - central sussex college is absolutely not central in Haywards Heath, and no other suitable venue exists. You are building many more homes in the area and it is laughable that such a significant town does not have its own active cultural venue.

Agree whole heartedly. Haywards Heath is very short of true cultural or thought provoking events such as Caroliine describes.  Clair Hall  can provide a venue for them  whilst also as she rightly says introducing another generation to a new experience. Never experienced -never known! And weekly disco nights sound great. Perhaps we could all go! Different nights for different ages?  Perhaps not but a barn dance would be welcome. Good exercise and enjoyment for all ages.
