I have lived in Haywards heath for 24 years and Clair Hall has been a centre for meeting friends, engaging in public events and performances and contributing to local life.

I remember visiting Clair Hall with friends who attended on a Sunday, whose church used Clair Hall as a temporary place of worship until they were able to build locally and have a permanent place of worship.

Most significantly, my daughter attended dance classes at Clair Hall for many years. Having a local venue to attend, with good parking, easy drop off and pick up was invaluable and saved a lot of driving and unnecessary miles of driving, which I have consequently had to do since Clair Hall closed. Having a good size venue for my daughters dance to school to use for performances gave them an opportunity to engage with the arts, perform at a good size venue and significantly contributed to my daughters confidence and development.

My family have attended cinema and other entertainment events there, which reduced the need for driving to Brighton or Crawley, making attending these events more cost effective and convenient. I also remember attending Clair hall to make representation at the the 'Save the Princess Royal Hospital' consultation. This allowed significant numbers of local people to gather, make representation and ultimately protect local health services.

Having access to a local community based venue with good parking and access is a vital to all ages and its location near the station makes it ideal for people to attend from surrounding towns and villages.
