Here 25 years and the town has expanded massively.

Massive expansion of the town population over the last decade or so but instead of expanding local facilities the only entertainment centre is under threat. I have used Clair Hall all the time I have lived here - concerts, giving blood, watching films, dancing at ceilidhs, doing yoga and attending meetings amongst other things. What would we have done without this community space in this pandemic - especially one very close to public transport links? We need a theatre space and a multi use community arts centre with a cafe/bar, and it needs to be on the current site as it is positioned so well for public transport and hence encouraging people not to drive to it. Without Clair Hall Haywards Heath is just a soulless commuter dormitory town.

I have used Clair Hall since its opening and enjoyed pantos, amateur operatics, adult education, brass band concerts, jazz, pop and much more. I have also donated blood there for more than 40 years. The closure of Clair Hall for this purpose has meant a real drop in donations.  I have had to wait 6 months for an appointment in Burgess Hill, which involves a car journey instead of a gentle stroll through Clair Park. Others affected will be Scouts, nursery, and a church group all of which use the facilities. We need a local facility such as this, especially with our ever expanding population.
