Our Theatre and Community Hub

I have used Clair Hall for the last 31 years visiting for local theatre productions, music and visiting entertainment As well as U3A events as I gradually got older.

This is the only large Community Hall for Hayward’s Heath and the Mid Sussex Area and as such it is the responsibility of the Mid Sussex District Council to refurbish and maintain this vital asset to out community.

My family has used the venue extensively and we were able to introduce the children to theatre, music and pantomime productions which we continue to do with our grandchildren.

it is not just there for and audience but also for those wishing to take part in an artistic production allowing them to take part in semi professional productions before taking the step to professional stage.

this vital recourse is part of the community and should be placed high in the councils services for its residents

Long Live Clair Hall

I have used Clair Hall since it opened, as a teenager when the notorious disco used to be on  Friday night to current day attending film showings, amateur dramatics, giving blood, baby clothe sales, live music and most importantly as a volunteer for the vaccination centre in which Clair Hall has been invaluable and we must have a local community building that can be used if needed in the future.  What would the wider area have done without it, 100,000 people vaccinated there to date. It needs updating and it needs good management that can ensure continued use but the location is perfect.

My first memories of being at Clair are in the 1970’s for the local discos! In 1991 for my wedding reception & since then for local theatre & pantomime, comedy & film evenings, children’s parties, the park for Park Runs & most recently as a volunteer for the local Covid vaccines.
It is a fantastic venue with a lovely outside space in a great central location providing much needed parking & close to transportation links. The facility is in need of complete refurbishment & modernisation to bring it up to the standards expected from a public venue today. This venue is a great asset for our local community & should be kept for our future generations to continue to use & enjoy as we have.
