Teenage Discos

Back in the late at the height of the Saturday Night Fever era, Clare Hall used to host a disco every other Friday night. The alternative Fridays were covered by the Martlets Hall in Burgess Hill. This was a really popular facility for teenagers at the time. There doesn't seem to be an equivalent for under 18s in Haywards Heath nowadays.

The building may be a bit tired now, but the replacement should fulfill the same purpose. Also, it should be considered that the facility needs to serve a larger community. HH is considerably larger than when Clare Hall was built more than 40 years ago.

Flogging the site off for commercial or housing development is completely unacceptable. As would any encroachment onto the green space behind.
