Background
In Spring 2020, we asked local people what we could do to improve St Johns Park in Burgess Hill. Landscape Architects prepared draft designs based on the feedback we received.
The designs showed long term plans for how the space could be improved over time.
In Summer 2020, people had the chance to comment on the design and say what their priorities were. Our Landscape Architects have considered everyone’s comments and made minor changes to reflect the views we heard. They have also recommended which of the improvement projects to prioritise based on the most popular ones chosen.
We are using those plans and the estimated delivery costs, to secure funding.
In our 2020 public consultation, residents told us they wanted more opportunities for sport, fun, and exercise in the park—alongside spaces with a strong local identity, character, and year‑round comfort. Mid Sussex District Council is now moving forward with Phase One of these improvements, with funding identified to enhance the children’s play area and develop better facilities for young people, including the skate park and its surrounding spaces.
We’re now asking for your views to help shape the next steps. Your priorities will directly influence how this part of the park is improved. Please take a few minutes to share what matters most to you.
