Ballroom and Latin Dancing Events
I moved to Haywards Heath in 2018. When looking around for venues to hold a celebration dinner and dance event for 100 people, I was delighted to find Clair Hall and booked it for the 10th October 2020. Unfortunately due to Covid-19, and still not being able to hold large gatherings then, we had to cancel the event.
I have been involved in the Ballroom and Latin Dancing community for many years, and during lockdown have had conversations with colleagues about the possibility of using Clair Hall to run International Dance competitions, tea dances and other dance events, when restrictions are fully lifted.
I was shocked to learn that the future of Clair Hall was in jeopardy. Having looked around for venues of this kind in the locality and in Sussex generally, I can tell you that there is little to compare. It being close to the station, with good links between Brighton, Gatwick and London and now having a Premier Inn next door, I can’t believe that it cannot be turned into a thriving viable enterprise for the community.
