The Peanut Butter Falcon - Charity Film Screening

In Feb 2020 . thankfully just before we were all disrupted by the pandemic we used Clair Hall to host and screen a charity event screening of the wonderful Peanut Butter Falcon movie....

The event was held on a awful day weatherwise as Storm Ciara was battering the UK and yet 300+ people came out and enjoy a fantastic film which was hosted by our son Ross...

This wouldn't have been possible without the Clair Hall facility and the team believing that despite the fact that they hadn't put on a film show for years that people would come...

They came and they donated and we raised the profile of down syndrome..and showed Ross that anything is possible..believe in your dreams and follow them...

The council and residents of Haywards Heath need to dream BIG and Co-create something that is beautiful, cool and that will regenerate the area and excite people who might otherwise get on the train to London...there is still a place for that BUT places like Haywards Heath shouldn't be a cultural wastelands...

Events like this are what make a community and like many residents I value this greatly.  They also add value by bringing people together who use local restaurants, cafes and shopping, scheduled around the events, which makes an important economic contribution to the area too.  The loss of the Clair Hall facility would see a loss of income to local traders at a time when they have been facing unprecedented difficulty -  why would the local Council add to this? We want our town to thrive and grow and the Clair Hall - with the support and investment it deserves to make it vibrant - is an essential part of our local culture, sport and connection between people.

I would like to echo Steve’s comments regarding the wonderful charity film screening he and his family arranged last year. The whole team at Clair Hall was dedicated to and hugely contributed to making this event a great success. They delivered excellent customer service at all times. The location and venue were perfect and enabled us as a charity to represent the geographical reach of our membership and host an event outside our usual catchment area. This allowed us to reach a new audience - very important for a charity of our size. I sincerely hope Clair Hall remains an asset and hub for its local community as well as being able to welcome those of us who are not quite as local!
