Redwood centre and Claire Hall consultation
It is vital to the Haywards Heath youth and wider community that The Redwood Centre is not closed or repurposed in the consultation but enhanced and kept open. It is a thriving community hub, use seven days a week. It is leased to Mid Sussex District Scouts and ids a key base for events, training and education for both the youth and volunteers across the District and wider County. First Aid courses, Diversity, Disability and Leadership training workshops are hosted here. It also provides a unique space from which we can host AGMs; quiz nights; presentations; fundraising events; Scout competitions; hike and expedition training and much more.
The Redwood Centre is the permanent base of 10th Haywards Heath, which delivers Scouting to 120 young people each week and has been serving the local community for nearly sixty years.
The Redwood centre is also used as a nursery 7am-6pm; a church on Sundays and is available for private hire. It is operating at near capacity and is a successful, multi-use facility and valuable community resource.
